Oracle has launched a second cloud region in Italy.
Located in Turin in northern Italy, the region will give organizations access to all of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s cloud and AI services.
According to Oracle, its sovereign capabilities will also help ensure that data remains within Italy’s borders to help meet regulatory requirements.
“Oracle is driving one of the fastest cloud infrastructure expansions in Italy to help our customers quickly and easily adopt the latest AI and cloud services,” said Andrea Sinopoli, vice president, cloud technology country leader, Oracle Italy. “The opening of our second cloud region in Italy reaffirms our commitment to helping organizations in Italy of all sizes and across every industry innovate with AI to boost business resilience and growth.”
The new region is hosted in partnership with Telecom Italia (TIM) and uses TIM’s data center in the city. Under that agreement, signed in May 2024, TIM also used OCI to migrate some of its internal workloads to the cloud.
The Turin region joins an existing cloud region in Milan, launched in 2021, and an Oracle Alloy region for Polo Strategico Nazionale (PSN), which is used to deliver hyperscale cloud and AI services to the Italian government.
Elsewhere in Europe, Oracle revealed in July 2025 that it would invest $3 billion in cloud and AI infrastructure in Germany ($2bn) and the Netherlands ($1bn) over the next five years.
In October 2025, TIM revealed it would spend €1 billion ($1.1bn) expanding its data center footprint over the next three years, including new data centers and upgrades to its existing facilities.
Amazon Web Services launched its Milan cloud region in 2020, with Google’s Milan region launching in 2022 in partnership with TIM. A second Italian GCP region has since launched in Turin.
Microsoft’s first Italian region, again in Milan, launched in 2023.
