Nokia (NYSE:NOK) said it is widening its work with Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) Web Services to move telecom network operations further into the cloud and support more autonomous systems.
The Nokia deal centers on running its Autonomous Network Fabric on AWS, with the company saying operators will gain access to AI and cloud tools aimed at Level 4 autonomy. Nokia said the platform already supports orchestration, assurance and inventory functions, and availability is expected later this year.
Nokia said the fabric combines data management, agentic AI, digital twin simulations and intent-based networking. It is designed to help carriers shift from manual network oversight to automated, cloud-native operations that can react faster to traffic changes.
Nokia said the AWS partnership builds on earlier work, including AI-powered network slicing and a commercial 5G Core SaaS service. Nokia and AWS said customers using the platform may see higher automation rates, shorter service delivery times and lower infrastructure costs as they push toward more autonomous network operations.
