- Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the company plans to expand partnerships in Vietnam.
- Huang also expressed interest in establishing a second base in Vietnam and contributing to the country’s semiconductor ecosystem development.
- The move could help Nvidia diversify its supply chain.
Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang reportedly said the company plans to strengthen the company’s partnership with Vietnam’s top tech firms, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) talent development and digital infrastructure enhancements.
Speaking at an event in Hanoi Monday, in his first visit to the country, Huang said Nvidia would expand ties with several Vietnamese companies including Viettel, FPT, Vingroup, and VNG.1 Yesterday, Huang also expressed interest in setting up a second base for Nvidia in Vietnam.2
Investing $250 million in Vietnam so far, Nvidia has already partnered with several leading companies in the country to advance AI in cloud, automotive, and healthcare sectors.
The commitment could help Nvidia further diversify its supply chain as well, and comes as the U.S. government has also shown interest in deepening diplomatic relations with Vietnam amid tensions in U.S.-China relations.3
Nvidia shares reversed course and were 1.7% lower as of 9:40 a.m. ET Monday, though they have more than tripled in value so far this year.
