To build a green hydrogen factory, Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) has joined forces with Hygenco India Private Limited. The plant will allow Jindal to reduce its carbon emissions by around 2,700 MT year. Vivaan Solar, a top operator in renewable energy Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), has backed Hygenco in a collaboration. It will now be the first stainless steel firm in India to build a green hydrogen plant as a result of this development.
JSL started transition from a thermal energy-intensive production setting to renewable energy alternatives like solar and wind power during the 2021–22 period, reducing carbon emissions by 3,100 metric tons. Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director of JSL, informs that the green hydrogen plant will be a first in India’s manufacturing sector, accelerating the switch from thermal to clean energy. Jindal comments, “Moving forward, we will keep working to achieve net-zero emissions and energy conservation”. The brand is also keen to make investments in the field of renewable energy.
