- Company boss Jensen Huang believes “AI employees” will become a regular workplace feature.
- The American founder of Nvidia explained how the tech agents would be instructed to perform their duties, similar to how humans are briefed.
- Huang believes the growth of AI tech can lead to further growth and earnings for companies, with a mixed impact on job roles.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is adamant that “AI employees” will eventually be commonplace in various working environments alongside humans.
The 61-year-old executive, synonymous with his trademark leather jacket, spoke on the No Priors podcast when he made the remarks.
Huang envisaged a situation where AI would fulfill roles across sectors such as chip design, marketing, and supply chain. He believes it could be a seamless task, with the technology briefed similarly to humans, asked to perform certain duties, explaining the situation, and communicating in a back-and-forth manner.
“There’s no question we’re gonna have AI employees of all kinds,” he opined on No Priors.
On Tuesday (November 5), Nvidia surged past Apple to become the most valuable corporation in the world, reflecting the growing dominance of AI. It is against this backdrop that the Nvidia boss is well-placed to make informed commentary on the rise of the technology.
He repeated themes previously mentioned with Wired at a fireside chat in July, when he discussed the concept of “digital agents” who would assist every job in his company.
AI Tipped To Deliver Rewards In Growth And Earnings
In another online recording with the BG2 podcast, Huang indicated that AIs will be able to ‘recruit’ other AIs in the future, coexisting in Slack spaces with other programs and humans.
While there is a natural fear about the increasing proliferation of AI and tech in the workplace, the Nvidia chief insisted it would also help secure employment positions, just as other roles would inevitably change.
He believes companies that seize the initiative with AI to boost productivity will ultimately see the rewards in growth and increased earnings, which can also act as a counterbalance to staff layoffs.
He talked about a future in which AIs will recruit other AIs to solve problems while existing in Slack channels with themselves and other humans.
