OpenAI explores robotics research, collaboration opportunities in Korea : US Pioneer Global VC DIFCHQ SFO Singapore – Riyadh Swiss Our Mind

OpenAI expressed its interest in robotics research and hinted at potential collaborations with South Korean companies on Tuesday.

The company hosted the OpenAI Builder Lab: Seoul at The Plaza Hotel, an event led by CEO Sam Altman and Chief Product Officer Kevin Weil. The gathering brought together 100 Chief Technology Officers and software engineers from tech firms, including Korean artificial intelligence startups partnering with OpenAI.

During the Q&A session, when asked about expanding into new fields such as robotics and healthcare, Altman and Weil responded that “with recent advancements in video models and mechanical engineering, we believe now is the ideal time to pursue robotics research.”

Regarding OpenAI’s approach to fine-tuning and optimizing models, Altman explained that with their O-series models, achieving high performance now requires significantly less data and that they will focus on custom AI model optimization, allowing users to tailor models to specific needs.
