The true challenge of autonomous enterprise technology is not teaching digital agents how to act, but deciding where to place their boundaries.
In a significant addition to its technology platform, Oracle made a series of announcements at Oracle AI World in Las Vegas, US on 26 October 2026.
The software provider introduced agentic applications across Oracle Fusion Applications, unveiled its Deep Trust AI Architecture and expanded the capabilities of Oracle Autonomous AI Lakehouse, among other updates.
These updates aim to assist organisations in executing complex workflows economically while maintaining enterprise control and governance.
AI agents are capable of taking on increasingly complex work. But to work effectively at enterprise scale, agents need the right data, context and infrastructure, with the right controls in place
Delivering governed enterprise execution
Powered by Oracle Fusion Claw, 25 agentic applications are available across Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM), Supply Chain and Manufacturing (SCM) and Customer Experience (CX).
Fusion Claw provides an execution runtime designed for long-running workflows, continuous replanning and deterministic execution.
Jason Rees, Senior Vice President, Technology and Cloud Infrastructure, EMEA at Oracle, talking about Fusion Claw, said on a LinkedIn post: “AI agents are capable of taking on increasingly complex work. But to work effectively at enterprise scale, agents need the right data, context and infrastructure, with the right controls in place.
“Oracle Fusion Claw is a good example of those pieces coming together. Running on OCI and powered by frontier models including Gemini and OpenAI, there are already 25 new Claw-powered Agentic Applications available today that can reason, compute, adapt and execute specialist-grade work.”
In an official statement at the event, Chris Leone, Executive Vice President of Applications Development at Oracle, says: “The next era of enterprise AI is all about delivering software that increasingly does the work, while people define the objectives and set the policies.”
The applications coordinate end-to-end operational activities across key business units:
- Reconcile accounting entries and investigate anomalies within organisational policies using Ledger
- Balance workforce demand shifts and operational continuity through Workforce Orchestration
- Compare historical payroll balances to resolve variances via Payroll Activity Workspace
- Allocate scarce manufacturing materials and capacity using Supply Planning Allocation.
The next era of enterprise AI is all about delivering software that increasingly does the work, while people define the objectives and set the policies
To coordinate these capabilities, Oracle announced two AI experiences named Oracle Fusion Companion and Oracle Fusion Agentic Home.
Fusion Companion connects business objectives to execution, operating through supported tools such as ChatGPT while leveraging enterprise data context and user permissions.
Fusion Agentic Home provides a personalised workspace where staff define objectives, delegate assignments to agents and monitor completion.
Customers can also create and manage custom agents using Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications, which includes built-in observability and safety controls.
Embedding security directly into software architecture
To address operational risk, Oracle has introduced its Deep Trust AI Architecture across four core layers of the technology stack.
The model eliminates the need for individual applications to create independent safeguards by building protection into the platform, data, data access and development stages.
At the software layer, Oracle Autonomous AI Database applies security updates across firmware, storage, operating systems and database engines automatically without downtime.
At the data level, Oracle Deep Data Security checks corporate tokens on every SQL request, while Oracle SQL Assertions stops rule-breaking actions directly in the database.
Oracle Deep Trust Data APIs restrict external agents to designated business objects rather than permitting arbitrary SQL commands.
For conversational queries, Oracle Deep NL2SQL combines business terminology with data knowledge to create accurate SQL queries.
Oracle APEX AI Application Generator translates natural-language descriptions into declarative APEXlang definitions, running them inside a centralised engine to avoid maintaining unverified code.
Unifying lakehouse data without unnecessary movement
Oracle also updated Autonomous AI Lakehouse, connecting live operational information with Apache Iceberg tables across multi-cloud environments without costly data movement.
The additions include an AI Data Catalog that provides queries across disparate databases, object stores and Iceberg tables without duplicating files.
A new Business Semantic Layer transforms raw data into business-aware structures using imported annotations and analytic views.
Teams can manage pipelines and run queries across more than 100 data sources using Oracle Data Studio.
The platform also embeds Oracle Essbase to power a Business Simulation Engine for multidimensional what-if analyses and forecasting.
A Data Lake Accelerator cluster increases query execution performance up to three times on 100TB datasets.

Çetin Özbütün, Executive Vice President of Autonomous AI Database Technologies at Oracle, notes: “Giving AI access to enterprise data is not enough.
“To make informed decisions and take trusted action, AI agents need to understand the business context behind that data and operate within an organisation’s rules and policies.
“By bringing business semantics and multidimensional modeling together with open data access and unified data governance, the latest updates to Autonomous AI Lakehouse help organisations give AI agents the context and controls to interpret enterprise data, apply business rules and support trusted actions.”
