Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ:PLTR) used its AIPCon event to highlight customer deployments of its Foundry, Ontology and Artificial Intelligence Platform products across supply chains, aviation safety, defense manufacturing, insurance, media, pharmaceuticals and industrial operations. Speakers repeatedly emphasized “sovereign AI,” or the use of enterprise-controlled data, infrastructure and fine-tuned models for specific operational tasks.
Co-founder and CEO Alex Karp said large language models require an application layer and operational context to deliver precise, useful results. He argued that organizations can retain control of their proprietary data and business advantages by fine-tuning open-weight or frontier models within their own environments. Karp said Palantir is using such approaches in classified settings, where organizations can operate models at lower cost while maintaining control over sensitive information.

Sovereign AI: Palantir and Nebius Cut the Cloud Cord
Alex Neefus, senior director of solution architecture at NVIDIA, described a joint supply-chain application called Command Center. The platform is intended to help NVIDIA manage component allocation across a global manufacturing network supporting systems such as the Grace Blackwell NVL72.
Neefus said NVIDIA’s supply chain involves millions of parts from thousands of suppliers and that manufacturers cannot begin production until all critical components are available. The company tracks “Time of Ownership,” a metric designed to reduce the time components sit idle while awaiting other materials, while increasing throughput toward the production of AI tokens.

Cathie Wood Trimmed Palantir, But the Bigger Story Is Still Valuation
According to Neefus, Palantir’s Ontology connects data on materials, manufacturers, sites, capacity, allocations and production commitments. NVIDIA is combining that data layer with its cuOpt decision-optimization library and Palantir’s AIP tools to evaluate supply-chain scenarios, such as reduced memory availability or the addition of a factory.
NVIDIA said its supply-chain planners remain central to allocation decisions, with the system designed to capture their expertise and create evolving benchmarks for model evaluation. Neefus said NVIDIA fine-tuned its Nemotron 3.5 Lightning model for the workflow and found that it outperformed the company’s larger Nemotron 3 Ultra model for the specialized task. He said the smaller model can be retrained on a single GPU in a few hours.

The deployment runs on premises at NVIDIA and was jointly published as the “Palantir Sovereign AI Operating System,” Neefus said.
Cisco Extends Collaboration
Cisco President and Chief Product Officer Jeetu Patel announced an expanded collaboration with Palantir. Under the arrangement, Palantir’s cybersecurity Ontology model will be offered through Cisco’s AI Factory with NVIDIA, he said.
Patel said the offering will combine post-trained and fine-tuned Nemotron models, security guardrails, and Cisco’s infrastructure spanning GPUs, networking, security and observability. He characterized secure control over delegated work to AI agents as essential for enterprises and public-sector organizations, particularly in regulated environments.
Government and Industrial Applications
Nick Fuller, the FAA’s associate administrator for aviation safety management, said the agency is using Palantir to support Flight Plan 2026, an operational and organizational overhaul centered on safety, people and modernization of the National Airspace System.
Fuller said the FAA’s Aviation Safety Management Office is integrating previously siloed sources into a shared ontology intended to provide a national view of safety risks. The system is designed to evaluate signals such as weather, event reports and air-traffic-control audio, then help analysts investigate risks and route mitigation actions to responsible groups. He said humans remain accountable for evaluating AI-generated analysis and determining subsequent actions.
L3Harris Chief Digital and Transformation Officer Heidi Wood said the defense contractor has built an enterprise-wide unified data layer using Palantir, connecting 33 enterprise-resource-planning systems, hundreds of software systems and spreadsheets. The company now has 3.5 million data connections and more than 5,000 scheduled data feeds flowing into Foundry, she said.
Wood said the platform helped L3Harris identify programs affected by a shortage of glass used in circuit boards in 10 minutes, compared with what she said could previously have involved about 30 people and taken up to three months. She also said an experiment involving country-of-origin monitoring found that an open-source model fine-tuned on L3Harris data outperformed frontier models in less than 48 hours at a cost 95% lower than those models.
Commercial Customer Use Cases
USA Today Co. CEO Mike Reed said the publisher is using Palantir to connect first-party reader data into a shared Ontology. He described an illustrative workflow in which agents generate personalized newsletters and recommendations based on anonymized reader activity, while editorial content remains governed by USA Today’s standards. Reed said the company aims to retain control of reader relationships, data governance and monetization decisions.
Hexion CEO Michael Lefenfeld said the chemical manufacturer’s business transformation over the past three years resulted in $300 million of EBITDA improvement. He said Hexion is now using Palantir to connect customer demand, inventory, procurement, supplier contracts, production and pricing decisions. The company’s agents can identify consumption changes, recommend delivery schedules and assess sourcing plans, while employees retain decision-making authority.
Acrisure Chief Technology and Chief AI Officer Ben Funk introduced Oris AI, an insurance platform built on Palantir’s Ontology and AIP. The platform is designed to support client advisors, placement professionals and servicing teams by aggregating structured and unstructured data, identifying coverage opportunities, coordinating quotes and helping manage policy servicing workflows.
Other speakers described Palantir-supported efforts at Eaton to accelerate engineer-to-order quoting, at Novartis to support governed analysis across clinical-trial data, and at The Elmet Group to deploy applications for supply chain, purchasing, costing and production scheduling. Elmet Executive Vice President Scott Knoll said Palantir engineers integrated data and built applications within weeks, compared with a prior CRM implementation that took nine months for data integration.
