Vertiv and Nvidia reveal design blueprint for AI-powered data centers : US Pioneer Global VC DIFCHQ SFO India Singapore – Riyadh Swiss Our Mind

Vertiv, a provider of digital infrastructure, developed a comprehensive reference architecture with Nvidia for the Nvidia GB200 NVL72 platform, an exascale computer in a single rack. This architecture provides a blueprint to transform traditional data centers into (artificial intelligence) AI-driven “factories” capable of supporting enterprise-scale AI applications.

The architecture is designed to accelerate the deployment of Nvidia’s liquid-cooled GB200 NVL72 platform, which supports up to 132 kilowatts of power per rack. This infrastructure aims to optimize performance, cost, energy efficiency, and scalability, catering to the increasing demands of AI-driven data centers.

“Our high-performance power and cooling solutions, paired with our global scale, support faster and more efficient deployment of AI data centers, helping address densification, dynamic workloads, and future-ready designs,” said Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv.

Vertiv’s power and cooling solutions are closely integrated with Nvidia’s Blackwell platform to simplify AI workload deployment across data centers, whether new or existing. This approach also includes a mix of liquid and air-cooling technologies to handle the high-density heat that AI processes generate. Optional Open Compute Project-inspired systems, like DC power shelves, further enhance customization and flexibility.

“New data centers are built for accelerated computing and generative AI with architectures that are significantly more complex than those for general-purpose computing,” Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, said in a media release. “With Vertiv’s cooling and power technologies, Nvidia can realize our vision of creating AI factories that produce digital intelligence to benefit every company and industry.”

This co-developed solution is part of Vertiv’s 360AI portfolio, which aims to guide data centers through the transition to AI-ready infrastructure, with solutions for retrofitting existing facilities and constructing new sites equipped to manage the demands of advanced AI and high-performance computing applications.
